'Transformers 5' News, Update: Paramount Reveals Official Title of Fifth Sequel; Who is 'The Last Knight'?
Paramount Pictures has finally revealed the title of the upcoming fifth sequel of the hit film series franchise.
On Tuesday, the official "Transformers" movie Instagram account posted a thirty-second short clip featuring an extreme close-up look of Optimus Prime's face and the title which reads, "Transformers: The Last Knight."
As indicated in the teaser, production of the film is set to commence this June. Fans will then have to wait a year or so to finally see what new story about the transforming robots director Michael Bay has to offer this time around. Most of all, the public would like to know, who could be this "Last Knight?"
Forbes, in their report, said that the character in question could be Optimus Prime himself. They point out the sword that can be seen in the logo. For those who have seen "Age of Extinction," this was the same double-edged weapon that the sentient robot wielded near the end of the film.
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans point out the huge change made in the font style of the title. Before, it was this slick, edgy, chrome-looking logo that the past four films have been using. Now, the movie opted to go something with a blockier design and the texture which is kind of resembles the surface of a space ship.
Putting the pieces of the puzzle together, it seems like Bay and the entire "Transformers" writers room are pointing out to Rom the Spaceknight.
The classic Hasbro property first appeared in the 70s as an action toy figure. Later on, it branched off to become a popular series in Marvel Comics. Much of his logo designs employ a blockier look like that of the "Last Knight" font.
Similar to the Optimus and the rest of the Autobots, he is a cyborg, the last of his kind, whose mission is to protect the entire galaxy from cosmic threats. His armor enables him to travel through space.
Could Rom the Spaceknight the latest addition to the pool of characters for "Transformers: The Last Knight"?
