'Transformers 5' Spoilers: Shootings to Start This Summer

News about the upcoming installment of the "Transformers" movie series has been revealed.

It was reported that "Transformers 5" will finally begin its shooting this summer. With that, fans are looking forward to see what is in store for the franchise, especially since Michael Bay is back to direct the film.

Along with Michael Bay, the lead of the previous film, Mark Wahlberg, is also expected to star in the upcoming film. He took on the role of Cade Yeager in the previously released film "Transformers: Age of Extinction." However, it has yet to be confirmed whether Nicola Peltz, who took on the role of Tessa Yeager, and Jack Reynor, who took on the role of Shane Dyson, will be back to the big screen.

Even though the script of the movie was finished in the fall of last year, there has yet to be any news regarding what the plot will offer. However, it was stated that the film will shift its focus on the actual Transformers themselves, aside from the human-centric plotline it used to have.

According to the head writer of the movie, Akiva Goldsman, the film will hopefully expand the Transformers universe. As reported by Deadline, he said, "We've got a work space that is beautifully production designed to be immersive with a strong sense of the franchise history," he said. "We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe."

With that, fans can expect big changes to come for the new film. "Transformers 5" is expected to hit theaters by 2017.
