'True Blood' Season 7 Spoilers: Executive Producer Warns 'Heads Are Gonna Roll'
"True Blood" returns to HBO this Sunday for its seventh and final season premiere and fans are gripped with anticipation.
Ahead of the premiere, information about season seven has slowly surfaced online, including the promise that the deaths of major characters would occur before the vampire series goes off the air for good. Echoing those reports, "True Blood" executive producer Brian Buckner revealed that "heads are gonna roll" in season seven.
"It's the final season of 'True Blood,' so gone are the days where we pull our punches," he said, according to Entertainment Weekly. "Heads are gonna roll."

Buckner went on to give "True Blood" fans an idea about where season seven will pick up – amidst Sookie, Bill and Hep-V-infected vampires in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
"Mayor Merlotte, Sheriff Bellefleur, and Jason Stackhouse are going to have their hands full, because not only do they have to fend off these H-vamps, but also they have to fend off this [Bon Temps] vigilante group," Buckner told EW.
In past seasons of "True Blood," there has always been one especially evil and vicious villain. However, in season seven, the virus causing vampires to turn on humans serves as the villain.
"There are certain things I don't believe we can top," Buckner explained. "So the writers and I decided from the get-go that we're not gonna take screen time away from our series regulars to build a new character who becomes the focus for the season."
Nevertheless, no character on "True Blood" is safe from being killed this season - including Eric, as revealed by the first trailer for season seven. The sneak peek noticeably omitted actor Alexander Skarsgard, who portrays Eric, the debonair vampire whose fate hung in the balance at the end of season six. Moreover, "True Blood" star Ryan Kwanten warned fans that their beloved characters will die in the upcoming season.
"People are going to be dying," the actor, who portrays Jason Stackhouse, revealed to Access Hollywood. "Some of your favorites are not going to last the season, unfortunately."
"True Blood" premieres on HBO Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. EST.
