'True Blood' Season 7 Spoilers: 'Fans Will Be Satisfied' With Finale, Ginger Hired As Series Regular
"True Blood" returns to HBO on June 22, but fans can already look forward to a satisfying final season, according to a star on the vampire series.
Tara Buck, who portrays Ginger, was promoted from a guest-star on "True Blood" to a series regular for the seventh and final season of the show this year.
"Every time I got a script, I would look through it and see if I died," the actress told The Huffington Post. "When I didn't, I'd go back and read the script, and sort of breathe a sigh of relief. Oh, I've got another episode. So this year when they wanted to offer me a series regular, I was a little in disbelief. And thrilled, of course!"
Furthermore, the actress provided some insight to the new season, promising fans "wonderful surprises" and much more.
"I arrived on set and got my first script and realized they had created a full story … There are some wonderful surprises and a lot of humor," Buck said. "It's off the hook funny."
In addition to Ginger, "True Blood" fan favorites Sookie, Bill and Eric will return during the season seven premiere on June 22. As previously reported, the final season will see "sick" vampires infected with Hep-V target humans in the final season, and only Sookie can stop them.
"It's the payoff for all the things you wondered about Ginger," Buck added of the final season. "What's she doing there? What keeps her there? Why do they keep her there? What is her relationship with Pam and Eric? I think the fans will be sufficiently satiated this season."
Meanwhile, no character is safe from being killed this season- including Eric, according a trailer for season seven. The clip noticeably omitted actor Alexander Skarsgard who portrays Eric, the debonair vampire whose fate hung in the balance at the end of season six.
"People are going to be dying," Ryan Kwanten, who portrays Jason Stackhouse, revealed to Access Hollywood. "Some of your favorites are not going to last the season, unfortunately."
The final season of "True Blood" premieres on HBO Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m. EST. The series stars Anna Paquin as well as Stephen Moyer, Joe Manganiello and Sam Trammell, among many others.
