'True Detective' Season 3 News: Cary Fukunaga Leaves The Series

With the third season of "True Detective" soon expected, fans are wondering about who exactly will be returning to the series.

It was revealed that the creator of the series, Nic Pizzolatto, will still be working with the HBO hit series. However, there are reports stating that Cary Fukunaga will not be involved in the upcoming season.

Both Pizzolatto and Fukunaga have been working on the series since the beginning. However, there are rumors that the two had a disagreement during the second season of the series, which led to their falling out. It was speculated that Fukunaga was upset at Pizzolatto for creating a character that represented Fukunaga in the series.

While Pizzolatto had denied that this is the case, it was confirmed that Fukunaga will no longer be joining him for another season. Fukunaga recently spoke to Interview Magazine about the matter. He stated, "That's far too big of a commitment. After season one was done, I was very happy to move on, back to feature film and a completely different world to immerse myself in. And whatever I do next, hopefully, will feel just as different as anything I've ever done before."

He also explained that he had no plans of being involved in the previous season, and that he actually has not seen it yet. It was reported that Fukunaga is currently working on several projects such as "Beast of No Nation," which is an original Netflix film.

"Beast of No Nation" stars Idris Elba, who was able to share some nice comments about Fukunaga during an interview with The Huffington Post. He said, "Cary Fukunaga is a tour de force. He's very, very smart, very compassionate, collaborative. He gave me a lot of sort of license to build my character, and he's one of the best directors in the world and a future star."

Meanwhile, there has yet to be news on the upcoming season of "True Detective."
