UFC News and Rumors: Julianna Pena Arrested in a Reported Bar Fight

So much for gender equality.

Julianna Pena, a rising female star in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, was arrested on Sunday after allegedly beating up and fighting a couple of guys in a bar when she was denied access to the bathroom. The police report revealed that the female professional fighter kicked those men in the groin.

The Ultimate Fighter 18 winner was then charged on two counts of assault after police officers responded to a call about a fight happening outside a popular bar in Spokane. Spokane PD information officer Cpl. Jordan Ferguson said in a statement that they arrested Pena once they figured out what happened. It was first believed that another individual was also arrested, but the police denied it later confirming the initial report that no one was arrested aside from Pena.

Several witnesses came forward with the same statement — that Pena kicked a bar employee in the groin. She also allegedly kicked the groin of the bar owner, not once but twice after leaving the bar. Pena's companion, Josh Gow, was seen with her during the incident, but multiple witnesses could attest that he wasn't part of any hitting or fighting because he was just too drunk to get involved, though his face was already bloodied for unknown reasons.

Zola's bar — the place where the incident took place — was then swarmed with police officers who responded to an earlier call of a huge bar fight. One victim and two other witnesses confirmed to the police that Pena and Gow tried to enter the bar after already getting involved in a street fight nearby, something that could explain why Gow already had a bloodied face. When the bar employees told both fighters that the establishment was already closed and they're not allowed to enter, Pena got angry and this is when the trouble started.

The UFC through vice president of public relations Dave Sholler later said that they are still in the process of learning all the details of the incident.
