'Under the Dome' Season 2 Spoilers: 'Deadly Season' Ahead, Body Count Will 'Rev Up'

"Under the Dome" returns to CBS tonight with a brand new episode entitled "Reconciliation."

While season two is already underway, "Under the Dome" executive producer Neal Baer recently hinted at what the rest of the season has in store, including a higher body count. Baer attended Comic-Con 2014 along with "Under the Dome" stars including Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Alexander Koch and Rachelle Lefevre on Thursday when they discussed season two.

"No one is safe under the dome," Baer said when discussing killing characters, according to Los Angeles Daily News. "Last year we had 16."

The EP later added, "We've kept the body count down in the beginning of the season, but we're about to rev it up," according to Sarah Batcha. "But when you're dead you're dead, but there are possibilities that they'll come back."

Furthermore, the Twitter account for "Under the Dome" revealed Baer saying: "One of our characters, guess who, might get out of the dome this season."

"For some of these characters, the dome is not their biggest problem," LeFevre said, according Twitter. "Wherever you are, the problems will follow you."

The drama follows townspeople who are trapped under a giant dome that is supposed to serve as protection from an otherworldly force. While it seems like most of the town is trapped for good, previously released spoilers revealed a chance for one character to make their way outside the dome.

"This is the search to get out," Baer told TVGuide. "This is the season of new mysteries that unfold and one of those new mysteries will be if there is a way out."

Moreover, season two will address why the dome is there – aside from simply providing protection.

"We deal with that throughout the whole season, asking why is it here? What is it for? That's the journey that our characters are going on," Baer added.

"Under the Dome" airs on CBS Mondays at 10 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "Reconciliation" is as follows: "Julia takes over as the new leader of Chester's Mill, after the town becomes divided over Big Jim and Rebecca's population-control plan. Meanwhile, Joe and Norrie help Melanie search for clues about her identity at the dome wall."
