Universe's Baby Picture Compiles Space Probe's Data Over Nine Years (PHOTO)

A picture of the Universe in its infancy has been unveiled, according to Space.com.

The amazing photo of the Universe when it was practically a baby, has been created by using nine years of data collected from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) - a probe that completed its work two years ago and just under a decade of collecting data for analysis.

The WMAP first launched in 2001 with the mission to collect data from the radiation being produced from what many scientists believe was the "Big Bang."

The information gathered has now been collected and has been put together by top scientists to show a picture of the Universe in its infancy revealing a temperature range of plus or minus 200 micro-Kelvin.

The new picture portrays the Universe as about 13.7 billion years old.

Furthermore the picture shows the Universe as being comprised of a massive majority of dark matter and dark energy. Overall the portrayal shows the Universe being made up of 95 percent of the two.

According to Space.com, Johns Hopkins University astrophysicist Charles Bennett has said, "The universe encoded its autobiography in the microwave patterns we observe across the whole sky. When we decoded it, the universe revealed its history and contents. It is stunning to see everything fall into place."

Although some have heralded the Universe's "baby picture" as a landmark step in how scientists understand things, others have remained more skeptical of how the Universe is portrayed and what interpretations can be drawn from it.
