'Vikings' Season 4 Spoilers: Bjorn Embarks On Life-Changing Journey
The upcoming season of "Vikings" will be showing Bjorn take on a life-changing journey.
It was revealed that Bjorn, played by Alexander Ludwig, will be going on a quest that will allow him to reach his true potential. However, it can be expected that the character will encounter many obstacles along the way.
According to the creator of the series, Michael Hirst, Bjorn will be taking on a more challenging opponent to date. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Hirst stated, "Both Ragnar [Travis Fimmel] and Lagertha [Katheryn Winnick], in their own way, had tried to keep Bjorn as a child, not respecting him as an equal. So Bjorn takes off into the wilderness to prove, both to himself and Ragnar, that he can survive in the most extreme conditions. He's in the interior of Norway, over a winter, [when he faces off against a bear]."

Hirst also explained that they decided to send Ludwig to Canada in order to make the experience more visually appealing, as opposed to the usual location of Ireland. The experience was compared to Leonardo DiCaprio's experience in the recently released film "The Revenant."
Meanwhile, Ludwig also shared some details about his experience during the San Diego Comic-Con panel. He stated, "He decides to figure out his life and go out to the woods. And while he's there, this bear starts stalking him. Ironically, the bear had a bigger résumé than anyone else on the set. It was the 'Anchorman' bear. I was starstruck."
Apart from Bjorn's journey, a new character will be introduced in the season to come. It was revealed that Peter Franzen of "The Gunman" will be joining the series as King Harold Finehair. It was stated that he will have the goal of becoming Queen of Norway. His presence will be bringing trouble for Ragnar, played by Travis Fimmel.
"Vikings" will be airings its fourth season this Feb. 18.
