Vincent D'Onofrio Joins 'CHiPs' Reboot as A Villain
Vincent D'Onofrio has just signed on to play a villain in the reboot of popular 70's TV series, "CHiPs."
Returning from a successful run as Netflix's "Daredevil" villain Wilson Fisk, Vincent D'Onofrio is moving on to another bad guy role as a former-cop-turned-auto-theft-boss in the movie reboot of hit television show, "CHiPs."
For D'Onofrio, who once patrolled the beat as volatile Detective Robert Goren in 141 episodes of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," taking on the role of an ex-cop is close to previous characters.

While details of the film have been kept under wraps so far, the plot of the movie centers on an exotic cars theft ring run by D'Onofrio's character.
Reports have also emerged that the film will be following along the lines of buddy cop flicks like "Lethal Weapon," and "Bad Boys."
The action-comedy reboot will be adapted from the original TV hit series about the lives of motorcycle highway police officers known as California Highway Patrolmen, or CHiPs.
In the original drama show, which ran from September 1977 to July 1983, Larry Wilcox and Eric Estrada played the leading roles of Officer Jonathan Baker and Officer Francis "Ponch" Poncherello, respectively.
In the reboot, "Parenthood" actor Dax Shepard will be taking on Jon Baker's role, with "Gracepoint" lead Michael Peña playing Frank Poncherello's character. Based on a report by Deadline, Shepard will be performing his own motorcycle riding and stunts in the movie.
Shepard will be playing multiple roles, apart from starring in the movie. He will also direct and write the script, as well as and produce the reboot together with Andrew Panay.
Details of the movie's theater date have yet to be announced, but it is expected to be released by 2016.
D'Onofrio will next appear alongside Chris Pratt in "Jurassic World," and in the remake of "The Magnificent Seven" with Denzel Washington.
