'Wayward Pines' Season 2 News, Update: Titular City Under Martial Law?
In just about a few days, Fox will finally premiere the highly anticipated second season of its hit sci-fi drama TV series "Wayward Pines."
Earlier reports indicated that Season 2 will pick up right after the events that took place in Season 1 finale. A slew of trailers released throughout the month offer a quick view of what might be expected.
For a starter, fans now already know that Megan Fisher survived and will be returning for the second time around. She will meet Dr. Theo Yedlin, a character who has just awakened from hibernation to find the titular town already governed by the First Generation, led by Jason Higgins.
As teased over at Entertainment Weekly, the new season will open up to reveal that the entire place is already "very different, more militaristic place."
A previously released promo trailer from the network further offers a glimpse on the current political condition at Wayward Pines. As drawn from the scenes, it seems like the community is under martial law and this clearly suggests that the conflict won't just be about the people surviving from the threats of the Abbeys but of those who are running the town as well.
Speaking of the Abbeys, the teaser also featured a closer look on them. For starters, these "creatures" are actually human beings who, in a long time, evolved to become flesh-eaters. They inhabit the woods surrounding the town. The residents inside Wayward Pines are said to be safe as long as they stay away from the borders.
Yet another teaser video titled "The Pageant" shows quite a few intriguing things happening in the woods as juxtaposed in a seemingly innocent stage performance of school kids who will, one day, be replacing the current generation. As heard from their song, it looks like the children are indoctrinated on the importance of the place for their own survival.
"Wayward Pines" Season 2 returns to the small screen this Wednesday, May 25 on Fox.
