Woman Shot Over Cigarette: Mom of 1 Year Old Dies in Teen Shooting
A woman has been shot over a cigarette, in an incident that has shocked the local community on Pa. The 22 year old mother was shot and later died from her wounds, according to local reports.
The tragedy happened when a group of teenagers were told by the young mother, Kayla Peterson, to "get a job" when they followed her and her boyfriend, William Bailey, 28, as they walked from a local store.
They were reportedly hounding the couple to give them cigarettes.
Two 14 year olds, Todavia Cleckley and Marcus Velasquez, and a 13-year-old, Kyle Goosby Jr., have been arrested by police in connection with the killing.
According to Bailey, Velasquez pulled out a gun and shot Peterson, who was his fiancee.
The group of young teens and the couple had been shouting at each other after the group saw Bailey purchase cigarettes from a local store. They followed the couple as they headed home, resulting in Peterson confronting the group and telling them to get a job.
Bailey and Peterson have a one year old daughter, Ellionna, who will now grow up with a single father following the death of her mom.
The father has said, "She really was the rock of our family. I don't know what I'm going to do."
After hearing about the tragedy, the Big Beaver Falls Area School District issued a statement stating that all three suspects had not "been part of the student body or within the district's buildings for over a year."
Goolsby has since been arrested by police, but the other two suspects have still not been found.
