Women Join Jihad to Defend Their Faith, Expert Says

The atrocities that the world has seen from terrorists is not even half of what the extreme jihadists could actually perform, and with news of women starting to get stronger in the realm of terrorism, Dr. Anne Speckhard has something to say.

Through the course of her research and studies about women joining the Islamic State and other terrorist groups, she has talked to more than 400 terrorists, including their families, friends, and supporters.

According to The Christian Broadcasting Network, Speckhard believes that more and more women join terrorist activities against the United States because they strongly believe that they need to defend their faith.

Just as the Islamic State does with people who it thinks is going against the extreme beliefs that it has established, the women can go as far as helping their terrorist husbands to murder people since it is their "individual" duty.

Referring to the couple linked to the San Bernardino, California killings, Speckhard said, "They would have thrown their hands up and surrendered, but they shot it out to death because death for them is victory."

The outlet says a new report claims that one in seven people who travel to the Middle East to become part of the terrorist groups is a woman. It is worth noting that over the past months, reports about young girls crossing the borders and reaching Iraq and Syria have been rampant.

Speckhard, who is an associate professor at Georgetown University and author of "Bride of Islam" and "Talking to Terrorists," goes on to explain that "a lot of girls go over to be brides, to marry fighters."

The Islamic State has presented various methods of getting women to convert to its own definition of Islam, thus creating a good number of jihad women who made an oath of eternal support in every way to their husband, be it murdering innocent people or leaving their children behind to fulfill their missions.
