'World of Tanks' Coming to PS4; No PS Plus Subscription Needed to Play

Good news for all gamers. Developer Wargaming is all set to release their massively multiplayer online game "World of Tanks" to the Sony platform. According to a report by Eurogamer, the game that will feature early to mid-20th century era fighting vehicles is confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 4. It will be arriving on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The launch to the platform follows after its beta test for PS4 last year. The game is not a new name though since it has already been released in other platforms. GameSpot detailed that "World of Tanks" has been around already for some time. It was first launched for PC, followed by the Xbox 360 version in 2014. The last one was for the Xbox One in 2015. The PS4 release will be the first for the game in the PlayStation platform.

Moreover, Wargaming also announced that the game will not require a PS Plus subscription to play. It's different in the Xbox version since players needed to have an Xbox Live Gold subscription to avail the game. VG 24/7 also noted that "World of Tank also supports trophies and RemotePlay with PS Vita."

There is a benefit though if the player is a PS Plus subscriber. According to the Eurogamer report, upon getting the game, they will get a German Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. J-PS premium tank. It comes along with its own garage slot and three extra Premium days. By the end of January, gamers who have played the video game will receive the American T1E6-PS tank, which will not be available after January 31.

For those who don't know what the game is all about, "World of Tanks" is described in its official website as "a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare." It comes with an arsenal that includes more than 350 armored vehicles from America, Germany, France and the Soviet Union.
