WWE Monday Night Raw News: Wayne Rooney Steals the Show with Slap on Wade Barrett

WWE Monday Night Raw featured another roadshow entertainment, this time making a stop in Manchester as part of the tour in the United Kingdom. There's no better way to spice everything up when you're in this city than let Wayne Rooney join the action.

The Manchester United football star was supposed to be just one of the handful of people who came to witness Monday Night Raw, but when King Barrett approached the English footballer and taunted him, the reaction was priceless — a slap in the face!

The slap was actually a result of some kind of a feud between the WWE star and the striker earlier this year when the wrestler, who is born in Preston, called out Rooney on social media for a diving act he did during an FA Cup game.

Of course, there was no serious harm intended here since Rooney would be no match to the British wresting superstar.

Rooney is a known fan of boxing and recently took his passion in combat sports to a new level when he put himself on board an entertaining feud with Barrett, but was later revealed to be all hype in order to organize a match for WresterMania 31.

Barrett actually sent a tweet to WWE chairman Vince McMahon in the hope of organizing a tag-team battle between Steve Austin and Rooney against Barrett and popular Preston striker Kevin Davis. Although the fight didn't materialize, the hostilities between Barrett and Rooney on Monday Night Raw more than made up for it.

All football and wrestling fans can hope right now is to eventually see Rooney and Barrett hurt each other in a future show, but it should be something that's difficult to realize since the football star is going to be busy with his Manchester squad in the coming weeks as the Premier League season goes deeper and each game getting more weight.
