WWE Rumors 2015: The Rock Confirms Appearance in WrestleMania 32 in 2016
There is no better way to transform WWE's WrestleMania 32 into a doubly interesting event than having one of the biggest wrestling stars to ever grace the ring make a comeback. Several news outlets have confirmed that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will be making an appearance at WrestleMania 32, which is slated to happen on April 3, Sunday, at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Although there is no official word from the WWE as to the kind of participation he's doing, The Rock himself revealed through social media on Monday that he indeed is going to participate in wrestling's most-anticipated event.
The Hollywood star's inclusion is a much-needed boost for the WWE that has been suffering from recent injuries and issues, particularly in 2015. And with the bold ambition of holding the event in a massive stadium, it would be pretty difficult to fill it up without star power like Johnson.
If everything pushes through, then next year's edition of WrestleMania will be The Rock's sixth straight appearance in the event; but it does not necessarily mean he's going to wrestle come April, especially considering the fact that the last time he did so was in 2013 for WrestleMania 29.
By comparison, WrestleMania is considered as the biggest and most productive event of the WWE. The pay-per-view event is going to cost about $60 for those who are not existing subscribers to the WWE Network. Well, The Rock himself knows how to choose the right event to attend, knowing that last year's edition, WrestleMania 31 was the highest grossing and most successful WWE event in history, racking up almost $13 million in ticket sales.
The Rock's star power is without question, with the WWE realizing that with him, it seems like PPV sales and gate attendance increase. After a successful career in wrestling, he has carved out a niche as an actor and producer in Hollywood.
