Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Update: Four 'Halo' Games Now Closer To Release
"Halo" fans could be in for a treat as Microsoft has announced a big Xbox One Backwards Compatibility update regarding the four upcoming 343 Industries titles. "Halo: CE Anniversary," "Halo 3," "Halo 3 ODST," and "Halo 4" are close to getting released with Microsoft saying they plan to make sure the experience lives up to fan expectations.
The games were previously promised to come out later this year and while it doesn't seem that they will be released this month, they aren't that far down the road either. A recent blogpost by the game's developers reveals that they are taking extra time before the games are launched.
"We know everyone is very eager to get their hands on the Xbox One back-compatibility release of "Halo: CE Anniversary," "Halo 3," "Halo 3 ODST," and "Halo 4," the 343 Industries' post reads. "We are eager to get them into your hands! The Xbox back-compatibility team is hard at work on final polish and we continue to work closely with them to help test and evaluate all four games for launch."
343 Industries assured fans that they are making great progress and that the release should be getting closer. "As soon as we have a final date we'll be sure to let you know," the post ended.
September has been a quiet month for the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility with no new games being announced so far. Aside from the Halo games, fans are also hoping to get "Skyrim" and "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" backwards compatible with both games being mainstays on their top 10 lists.
However, with the release of the games' remastered versions, it's very unlikely they will make the cut. The main reason is that the availability of remastered versions leaves developers with very little incentive to back the program with these specific titles.
At least for now, fans can look forward to the addition of four new "Halo" titles to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility roster.
