'Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition' Announced (VIDEO)
Nintendo has announced it will be launching a special edition of its "Xenoblade Chronicles X" for Wii U at the end of the year.
Four months after Japanese game developer Monolith Soft and Nintendo SPD released their Wii U action role-playing video game as a successor to Wii's 2010 RPG, "Xenoblade Chronicles," Nintendo revealed it would be launching a "Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition" in December.
The Special Edition package will include the Special Edition game, a custom USB stick modeled after the RPG's Lifehold pod units, an exclusive artbook with 100 pages of artwork specially created by game designer and illustrator, Takashi Kojo, matted card art featuring artist illustrations from the game, and music from the "Xenoblade Chronicles X" soundtrack.

The 2015 game, which has received positive reviews in Japan where it was launched in April, will be offering preorders for its upcoming Special Edition, which is expected to appear as a link on the game's website, as well as on online game retailers' pages.
Nintendo has already warned they will be issuing limited copies of the game's Special Edition, and advised users to preorder the latest addition as soon as the link becomes active.
"Xenoblade Chronicles X," an exploratory-themed open-world video game, is set in the year 2054 and focuses on the ongoing war between two alien races who battle it out near Earth. Due to the collateral damage on the planet, humans are forced to evacuate Earth on huge interstellar ships resembling arks.
The story follows the evacuees on the American ship, White Whale, after they crash land on the planet Mira, and establish a "New Los Angeles," while evading another alien race hunting them down.
"Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition" will be launched exclusively on Wii U on December 4, accompanying the original game's release in the US, Australia, and Europe.
