'Young Sheldon' Season 1 Spoilers: Annie Potts' Meemaw Irresponsibly Babysits the Kids

The upcoming episode of "Young Sheldon" season 1 will see Annie Potts making her debut as Meemaw.

The synopsis of the next episode, titled "Poker, Faith, and Eggs," states that Meemaw will be called to babysit the kids when George Sr. (Lance Barber) is suddenly rushed to the emergency room. However, things will get out of hand, and the kids will try to get to the hospital by themselves.

A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It opens with a brief shot of Meemaw holding Sheldon's (Iain Armitage) hand at the hospital before transitioning to a scene where they are in the kitchen playing cards. She rubs it in her grandson's face that he has lost the game. Then, Sheldon is taken aback by Meemaw's snoring as his siblings head somewhere in the background.

Sheldon also tells Meemaw that he is unable to lie to his own mother, but Meemaw assures him that it is possible. "Sure, you can. Believe in yourself," Meemaw tells him.

The final scene shows Sheldon wearing a football helmet and bringing tons of pillows into the car. Georgie (Montana Jordan) asks his younger brother why he has his helmet on. "I don't expect this to end well," Sheldon says as he gets into the car with Georgie in the driver's seat and Missy (Raegan Revord) in the passenger's seat.

In an exclusive preview of the next episode obtained by TVLine, fans get a more in-depth look at Meemaw and just how irresponsible she is. George and Mary (Zoe Perry) arrive home from the hospital to find Sheldon and Meemaw in the kitchen playing cards.

Mary asks her mother why Sheldon is not yet in bed before being startled by a loud sound coming from the outside. As George goes to inspect, Meemaw informs them that she gave Georgie firecrackers as a tip for getting her beer. Missy then runs through the kitchen screaming that she scarfed down a ton of sweets.

"Young Sheldon" season 1 airs Thursdays, at 8:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
