After it’s successful debut last weekend in over 3,000 churches nationwide, Cloud Ten Pictures’ Left Behind: World at War is now available on DVD at retail stores everywhere.

The film, which will not be released to theaters, had great success during its only weekend of showing, drawing rave reviews from critics, including a scoring of 5 Doves from the DOVE Foundation, and leading hundreds to the altar to give their hearts to Christ.

Producer Peter Lalonde hopes that the film’s success will help to send a message to Hollywood about what kind of films the faith-based market is looking for.

“As you are probably aware, all of the studios have been expressing an interest in making their films more appealing to the faith based marketplace. But that has not meant making Christian films,” said Lalonde in a statement released by Cloud Ten Pictures. “Instead, it has meant trying to find new ways to reposition their movies as ‘family friendly’ or ‘morally uplifting,’ thinking that this is what Christians are really looking for. That’s not the message we’re trying to send. With the Church Theatrical Premiers and the DVD sales afterwards, our message is a simple one. Christians want Christian movies. That means movies that make a clear presentation of the Gospel. Movies that give viewers a clear path to salvation.”

Left Behind: World at War is the third film in the Left Behind series, with its two predecessors grossing a combined $100 million.
