Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey garnered many headlines last year for his fiery opposition to United States Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh, at one point invoking Spartacus.

Even though Booker has not yet announced it, he is already in the process of putting together a campaign team and has the reported support of Steve Phillips, an influential San Francisco-based Democrat donor.

“This is actually bigger than Cory,” said Phillips, in an interview published by the New York Times last month.

“And so those of us who are enthusiastic about what he brings and what he offers the country will continue to work to try to have him become our next president and replace the current president.”
