4. He turned to prayer when things got tough on his journey

When Williams left his parents’ home in Ohio to live in Florida, he recalled being homeless briefly and the lessons he learned from that. By the time he was around 18, he had become a father and that led him to start seriously considering comedy as a career. He said he had deep conversations with God about his plans and things worked out.

“I guess I'm 18 or younger, and … once I have a child, I realized that I can't. It's a lot of things that I could use to make money that now is a no go. So anything with street aspirations that I might have thought about pursuing or being good at, now [I] am a single parent. And I got to redo these things,” he explained.
