5 highlights from Biden's interview with George Stephanopoulos: 'The Lord's not coming down'
'A bad episode'
Stephanopoulos kicked off the interview by inquiring about Biden's lackluster debate performance, for which he was roundly criticized even by members of his own party.
"Sure did," Biden said with a smile when Stephanopoulos quoted him and his team suggesting that he had "a bad night" during the debate.
JUST IN: President Joe Biden "doesn't think" he rewatched the debate, says he did so badly because Donald Trump "lied 28 times."

Referencing recent comments by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Stephanopoulos asked Biden whether his debate performance was a one-off or an indication of something more serious.
"It was a bad episode," Biden said. "No indication of any serious condition. I was exhausted. I didn't listen to my instincts in terms of preparing and — and a bad night."
Despite Biden and his team maintaining that he was "exhausted" after a transatlantic trip, Stephanopoulos noted that the president had more than a week to rest.
Biden claimed he felt "sick" and was feeling "terrible," and that his doctors wondered if he had COVID-19. He said they determined he had "a really bad cold," though he mingled with the public at a Waffle House following the debate.
Despite Biden's assurances that he does not have an underlying neurological condition, the New York Post reported over the weekend that White House visitor logs show Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden's physician, consulted multiple times with Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease expert at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Cannard has made nearly a dozen visits to the White House since November 2022, according to The Washington Times.
Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist at Walter Reed, also made visits to the White House, visitor logs show.
