Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who worked for the Biden administration and left the position this year, took to Twitter to state that the Trump campaign announcement will not end the ongoing investigations into the former president's alleged unlawful actions.

"For anyone who needs to hear this  — trump announcing he is running for President does not have a legal impact on investigations," she tweeted. "No one at DOJ watched that speech and ripped up all of the work they have been pursuing."

Recently, Trump filed a lawsuit to try and stop the House of Representatives Jan. 6 committee from subpoenaing him to testify regarding his alleged involvement in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot.
