Christophe Barraud, the chief economist and strategist at Market Securities Monaco, predicted that Trump would win and that Republicans would have a “clean sweep” of Congress.

“Looking at different metrics such as betting markets, polls, election modelers’ forecasts, financial markets, as of now, the most probable outcomes are: [1] #Trump victory [2] #GOP clean sweep,” he stated, as quoted by the New York Post.

The 38-year-old French economist went on to note that a Trump victory could boost the economy, at least in the short term, but might not help with the rising deficit.

In addition to Trump winning the presidential election, it has been reported that Republicans have secured a majority in the U.S. Senate. As of Thursday morning, control over the U.S. House of Representatives remains to be determined.
