Adele Breaks Multiple Guinness World Records
British singing sensation Adele has been inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records with three entries for her album “21.”
However, there has not yet been an official announcement stating which of Adele’s records she is being recognized for.
The singer’s widely successful second album also set new records in the United Kingdom. Adele holds the record for most consecutive weeks at number one and most cumulative weeks at the top for a solo female artist, according to The Associated Press.

Also, the 23-year-old is the first female artist to have two singles and two albums in the U.K. top positions at the same time.
“21” by Adele has sold more than 3 million copies in one calendar year, the first album in the United Kingdom to ever do so.
Adele recently was forced to cancel a number of live performances due to a chest infection affecting her award-winning voice.
“Her unique vocal talents have rightly propelled her to stardom on both sides of the Atlantic,” said Editor-in-Chief for Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday. “And her honest attitude to fame is refreshing.”
“Adele is a wonderful role model for aspiring singers – and for all young people,” continued Glenday.
The Guinness World Records will be released Thursday, and will reveal Adele’s feats.
During this year’s MTV VMA’s, Adele stole the show with her performance of “Someone Like You.” Many hailed her performance as the best of the entire event, where she won three awards for her hit single, “Rolling In the Deep.”
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Adele described meeting Beyonce, who told the Brit, “You’re amazing! When I listen to you I feel like I’m listening to God.”
Often employing a gospel choir, Adele’s songs are instantly recognizable, and described by the singer as “dark blues-y gospel disco tunes.”
The singer is widely praised for her no-gimmicks and non-sexualized music and image. During an interview with Q magazine, Adele said she chooses not to sexualize her image because it does not fit with her music.
“Even if I had Rihanna’s body, I’d still be making the music I make, and that don’t go together,” said Adele.
