Amy Grant Spent Time with Willie Mays & the Giants During West Coast Tour

Amy Grant's latest West coast tour run in support of her new album, How Mercy Looks From Here, had the singer spending sometime with the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

Grant hobnobbed with legendary Hall of Fame retired baseball player, Willie Mays, as well as hung out in the Giants dugout with her touring band and crew.

In July she made an appearance on popular show, "The View," and performed a few songs off of How Mercy Looks From Here.

How Mercy Looks From Here debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard charts.

She drew inspiration for her 18th record from her late mother who once told her "sing something that matters," she said in a release.
Grant is hoping this album is her most impactful one yet and received help from a list of famous friends such as: Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill, Will Hoge, Carole King, Eric Paslay and James Taylor.

"People have asked in the past, 'Who would you sing with if you could?' And I've always said, Well I don't know, just whatever happens. But I felt very intentional inviting these guests. Mostly because I love their work, but also because I felt like what they brought to the table creatively was exactly what that song needed," stated Grant to BreatheCast.

So far the critics agree, with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution saying, "Grant's most emotionally compelling release since 1988's 'Lead Me On'... proves that sincerity is not overrated and that open-hearted storytelling will outlast any musical fad."

How Mercy Looks From Here is dedicated to Grant's mother, so she appropriately included some Mother's Day promotions with the record over national radio stations.

Grant's career spans over 30 years with the release of her first album back in 1977. She has sold over 30 million records, has a five times platinum album, one triple, one double, and six single platinum as well as four gold albums.

The singer is a six time Grammy award winner and holds 25 GMA Dove Awards, and was a awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
