Artist Ministry Group to Head New Seminar at GMA Music in the Rockies
The Gospel Music Associations (GMA) annual Music in the Rockies event which features six days of professional development sessions, concerts, and a premier gospel music talent competition will be hosting a new seminar this year in partnership with missionary and ministry sending agency Artists in Christian Testimony International (A.C.T Intl) to give guidance to artists who desire to make a ministry a priority in their artistic career, according to a recent announcement.
The Artist Unleashed: The Arts in Ministry Conference is designed for artists, musicians, pastors and worship leaders as well as anyone in the artistic field, and will include a diverse offering of classes with titles that include, The Heart of the Artist, Strategies For a Lifetime of Ministry, and Making a Relationship with Christ an Unavoidable Issue in the Marketplace.
"The retreat atmosphere of the beautiful Rocky Mountains makes Music in the Rockies the perfect setting for artists and aspiring artists to be nurtured in the ministry aspect of their calling, said GMA President John W. Styll in the announcement. That is where A.C.T. Intl comes in. We are excited that the programs they will offer at Music in the Rockies will equip our registrants as artist ministers, not just artists.
"We are honored to partner with GMA to offer a new, unique program to the already excellent Music in the Rockies, said the Rev. Byron Spradlin, president of A.C.T Intl. Whether God is calling an artist to a national stage, the mission field, an active volunteer regional ministry or to a local church, it is crucial that we affirm and validate the artist's gifting for ministry. And that is precisely what we will do this year in The Artist Unleashed: The Arts in Ministry program at Estes Park.
The 32nd Annual Music in the Rockes event will be held from July 30 to Aug. 5 in Estes Park, Colo. For more information, visit www.gospelmusic.org and www.actinternational.org.
