Best Buy Cyber Monday 2011: New Sales and Free Shipping on Everything

Electronics giant Best Buy is trying to get ahead of the competition for Cyber Monday by offering free shipping and a host of new deals for the online event.

Retailers are still calculating just how successful Black Friday was, and where half of the United States population is expected to have shopped.

While consumer interest is reported to have been huge and the best deals were quickly snapped up, some are worrying that consumers may not have spent that much money in total, which is a reflection of the downward economic times.

The season’s big sales are far from over, however, and Cyber Monday promises to be more popular than ever before. Each year, people become increasingly accustomed to shopping online, and retailers have taken advantage of that trend by offering special deals on the day of the event and making it just as hectic as Black Friday.

Shopping online prevents riots and disorder at stores, and it may be the future of big-scale online sales.

Best Buy and other retail giants like Walmart, Target and Sears are trying to one-up each other with attracting customers for the big online day with deals on everything from game consoles to HDTVs, laptops, desktops and many other appliances and accessories.

Some of the Best Buy deals on Cyber Monday were unveiled by the Black Friday Shopping website, such as: the Gateway Intel Atom processor notebook with 10.1-inch display and 1 GB Ram for $149.99; the HP pavilion AMD laptop with 17.6-inch display and 4 GB Ram for $379.99; the Toshiba satellite Intel Core i3 laptop, 15.6-inches display, and 4 GB Ram for $379.99; the Toshiba satellite Intel core i3 laptop with 15.6-inch display, 6 GB Ram, and 640 GB Hard disk for $499.99; the Panasonic 50-inch 1080p Plasma HDTV for $599.99; and, the Sony 46-inch 1080p LED Smart TV for $1398.99.

Best Buy is also sweetening the deal by offering free shipping on all items, which will save significant amounts of money for customers.
