She writes in her book, "I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and family work."

There has been criticism over her endorsement of being a submissive wife, but as Bure explains it is not a modern interpretation of the word but rather a biblical one.

"The definition I'm using with the word submissive, is the Biblical definition of that. So, it is meekness -- it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength," Bure told HuffPost Live.

"It is very difficult to have two heads of authority," she added. "It doesn't work in military, it doesn't work- I mean you have one President, you know what I'm saying?"

Bure also stated that her actions are shaped through her Christian faith and commitment to Jesus.

"It is because I am a Christian and that for me is the first priority in my life. All the decisions I make in my life are really grounded in the foundation that I'm a Christian. That's definitely where my world view comes from, a Biblical view and that's why I make some of the choices I do," Bure told Fox News

"For me God comes first. But I don't need to talk about my relationship throughout the book. I mention it in the beginning so it sets the tone to see the perspective that I'm coming from."
