Christian Retailing Magazine's Retailers Choice Awards Nominations Begin

The award nominations have finally begun for the 2012 Christian Retailing Magazine’s Retailers Choice Awards event.

This event acknowledges the best Christian products that are being offered to customers today. It was first introduced in 2001. Christian Retailing Magazine has annually sponsored the awards event since its inception.

Christian retailers across the nation that sell Christian products are able to vote on the items they deem best for religious consumers. The nomination voting can be done at this website: http://www.retailerschoiceawards.com/nomination/nomination_form.php.

"The industry continues to develop and expand, and we believe it is important to adjust the Retailers Choice Award categories to reflect these changes," said Christian Retailing Editor Andy Butcher.

The 2012 edition of the awards has a long list of categories for its nominees. Eight new categories have been added to the list of prior categories. They include "Teen Bibles," "Men's Nonfiction," "Self-Published books" and "DVD: Documentary."

Some 2011 award winners have scored in several categories. Todd Burpo's book, Heaven is for Real, and David Platt's published work, Radical,  were co-recipients of the Christian Living award.

Eric Metaxas’ Bonhoeffer won the award for best Auto/Biography and The Action Bible by David C Cook won the award for Children’s Bible.

The 2012 nominees will be judged on several factors, including the ability to speak to people's hearts, evoke positive emotions, and open people's minds to new ways of religious understanding. Another factor is the nominee’s ability to encourage and affirm Christ-like living. The 2011 varied collection of Christian material is now up for nominations.

The entry fee for nominations rests at $50 per item. An early bird offer is also available for voters through Jan. 16. Voters will be granted an additional free entry for every five dollars paid.

The voting period for award nominations will end on Jan. 31. Voting for the final award nominee recipients will run from March 1 to March 31, 2012. The winners will be announced sometime later in the spring.
