Clint Eastwood Sues Furniture Company for Selling 'Eastwood' Items (PHOTO)

Clint Eastwood is suing a furniture company called "Exofurniture," as well as a website called Inmod.com and its domain name owners Alan Finkelstein and Casey Choron, for selling furniture items named after the Oscar-winning actor and filmmaker.

The defendants are allegedly offering entertainment centers, ottomans and chairs, all being named after the celebrated actor.

A complaint was filed at the Los Angeles Superior Court that claims that Evofurniture and the Inmod site "are continuing to use Mr. Eastwood's name, identity and persona for the purpose of attracting attention to the infringing products...," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the complaint the stores have also been marketing their products with descriptions such as: "Whether your favorite movies are westerns from the 1970s or dramas from the 2000s, you need a comfortably stylish place to hang out and watch them. If you're planning on having friends over for Dirty Harry marathons, then you definitely need something hip and modern. What you need is the Clint 71'' Entertainment Center."

Another advertising blurb reads: "When you're invited into a person's home, you get to see the good, the bad and the ugly. When visitors come to your home, the Clint 47'' Entertainment Center makes your family room alone look like you live in a perfect world of a million dollar baby."

Eastwood has claimed the stores did not seek his permission to trade on his goodwill and so claims they are liable for "the infringements of his rights."

The complaint seeks unspecified damages as well as a permanent injunction to stop all use of his name, image, and other rights of publicity by the stores.
