Danica Patrick Hosting American Country Awards With Trace Adkins

Danica Patrick is trading the racetrack for Hollywood during the fourth-annual America Country Awards this year.

The 31-year-old was tapped to co-host the music awards alongside Trace Adkins on Dec. 10, according to the racecar driver's Twitter account.

"I'm so excited to host the American Country Awards with Trace Adkins," Patrick said in statement, according to the Tennessean.

"I have no doubt he'll be able to keep up with me," she continued. "I've become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR. This is going to be a really cool experience and I'm excited to be a part of it. It's going to be a great show."

Patrick is filling in for Kristin Chenoweth, who hosted the 2012 CMA's alongside Adkins.

"I have [the] boots and hat to prove how country I am too… Y'all," Patrick added to Twitter after the CMA announcement on Tuesday.

The awards ceremony will not be the first time Patrick has publicly supported country music. Last year, the driver appeared in Miranda Lambert's music video for the song "Fastest Girl in Town."

Meanwhile, Patrick remains a media darling as she recently joined the Sprint Cup full-time this year. The record-making racecar driver also took center stage during this year's Daytona 500 after she won the coveted pole position.

It was an accomplishment that marked the first time a woman had won the position during the Daytona 500, which is said to be the Super Bowl of NASCAR.

"I've heard stories about a kid, a boy or a girl, saying, 'But mommy, daddy. That's a girl that's out there racing,'" Patrick began to explain to CNN's Don Lemon earlier this year. "And then they can have that conversation to say, 'You can do anything you want to do and gender doesn't matter.' Your passion is what matters. And that's cool."

As one of NACAR's most popular drivers, Patrick has also posed for men's magazines including the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, which propelled her into stardom.
