Sanders, 44, admitted that he was emotional after his children had to witness the violent incident.

The NFL star opened up to KXAS-TV news station in Dallas after the incident and admitted that he feared for his life with Pilar Sanders in the picture.

"My kids, they are scared for their life. They just saw two women jump their dad in his own house, in his room. It's sad," Sanders told the television station. "I got locks on my doors right now. Is somebody going to have to die? Is it going to be me before the court does something and get this woman out of my house?"

Sanders filed for divorce against his spouse last year, and his soon-to-be ex-wife sued the former NFL star for $200 million last March. PIlar Sanders filed a lawsuit saying that she was abused both physically and emotionally during the marriage which resulted in humiliation and the loss of finances, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Sanders took to his Twitter account Tuesday to speak about the strength it took to walk away from his ex-wife while she allegedly attempted to assault him.

"Strength is not only based on what you can lift, push, pull, press, carry, hold or squat," Sanders tweeted. "It's also measured by what you can walk away from!"
