Demi Lovato's Struggles Continue With God

Singer Demi Lovato has spoken publicly about her drug use, experiences with an eating disorder, and most recently, about God.

On Friday, the 19-year-old posted a series of tweets about her relationship with God to her 5.4 million Twitter followers.

"Sometimes it seems like God just keeps throwing crap my way and I get SO angry with him… But there's never a doubt in my mind He's gonna pull me through it all," Lovato posted on the social media site.

The actress added, "I know you're there God. But umm… Really dude?"

Over the past year, the former Disney actress has confessed to "self medicating" by experimenting with drugs and alcohol, and even cutting. The honest celebrity also admits her daily struggles with understanding God's presence in her life.

Lovato's Twitter fury continued Friday with the star posting, "He never fails to show me He's by my side though. Even in the tough times. #Godstuff."

Subsequent of her seemingly frustrated tweets, Lovato retweeted the posts of other users who had responded to her.

The singer retweeted user Andrea, who wrote, "Satan throws crap your way but God gets you through to make you a stronger/wiser person. #lifelessons."

Also responding to Lovato, Twitter user Saad wrote, "God NEVER gives you more than you can handle The toughest times are the ones in which He is carrying you in His arms God Bless."

Following the messages from fans, the star explained her influx of tweets on the site, writing, "I'm not very religious but I'm VERY spiritual and I DO believe in God. I'm not perfect or preaching! Just tweeting… : )"

Finally, Lovato's account fell silent with the last tweet by the star reading a quote from the 2003 Disney movie "Finding Nemo:" "Just keep swimming…"

Today, the star strides to improve her mental and physical health. A Dallas, Texas, native, Lovato released her third album Unbroken last fall, and the star fills her time with philanthropic activities through charity work and various social and environmental causes.

Late last year after having entered the rehabilitation center Timberline Knolls, Lovato urged her Twitter followers to pray for the young women there who are "fighting their inner demons."

Having recovered from her personal difficulties, the star wrote on Twitter: "Please say a prayer for all those struggling with eating disorders, self-harm, mood disorders, and substance abuse."
