Demi Moore Divorce Papers to Be Filed; Divorce Settlement With Ashton Kutcher Finally Moving Forward

Hollywood actress Demi Moore's divorce papers could be filed within a week, according to various reports out Wednesday. Moore, who split with husband actor Ashton Kutcher 16 months ago, is said to be finally ready and willing to take legal action to officially confirm their break and try to move on with her life away from Kutcher.

Moore is reportedly fed up with the drawn out process and disagreements over the financial settlement between the former couple, and now just wants to move on as quickly as possible.

A source has told the New York Post that Moore could be ready to file the necessary divorce paperwork as early as next week. The source said, "Ashton has been very difficult during the talks - you could even say he has been hostile. After over a year of attempting to reach a settlement, Demi is definitely ready to move on."

The source added to NY Post: "It's hoped lawyers for both sides can reach a settlement this spring, otherwise the divorce will go into litigation and trial."

Kutcher and Moore were married for six years before they split in 2011 in a highly public separation following allegations that Kutcher had been unfaithful. The actor was reported to have committed adultery with 22-year-old San Diego-based administrative assistant Sara Leal, which was just the latest in a series of infidelity rumors made by media publications against him.

In the aftermath of the split, Moore announced their separation by saying, "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

Kutcher also stated: "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Kutcher quickly moved on after his split from his wife, and started dating actress Mila Kunis. Moore, however, has seemingly had a much more difficult time moving on.

The financial issues of their divorce settlement has been the biggest sticking point. It was reported in 2011 that Kutcher was set to earn nearly $1 million for each episode of his portrayal of Walden Schmidt in the popular "Two and a Half Men" sitcom. In 2012 it was reported that he earned $24 million from the show alone.

In 2005, when Kutcher married Moore, he was successful and even bought a Hollywood Hills home, but he had nowhere near the star power of his then-wife. Moore reportedly had $154 million in the bank, with almost another $80 million settlement from her ex-husband Bruce Willis, according to The Daily Mail. It has been reported that to make sure her third spouse did not bankrupt her if the marriage dissolved, Moore's lawyers drafted an ironclad prenuptial agreement.

Since their split Kutcher's earning power has rocketed, and Moore believes she has been a big part of him reaching that status. However, Kutcher has allegedly disagreed, and the two have until now been unable to come to a clear agreement.

Now, however, it appears as though Moore is finally prepared to move on, and could file her divorce papers by next Tuesday.
