Warner Bros. together with Alcon entertainment launched the first trailer for "Dolphin Tale 2" which, like the original, is yet again based on another true story.

As the first film followed the story of Winter, a dolphin rescued in 2005 by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium that had an prosthetic tail attached to her, the new movie will document a brand new rescue of a baby dolphin named Hope that was saved during the wrap party for the first film.

"Dolphin Tale 2" is directed by Charles Martin Smith and stars Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman and Kris Kristofferson. It will also feature an appearance by the Soul Surfer Bethany Hamilton.

Filming concluded on Jan. 22 of this year.

"The Dolphin Tale 2 teaser trailer is finally here and I'm thrilled to be working on a family movie. So many readers loved the story of Winter. After watching this trailer, I have no doubt that baby Hope who was rescued by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium will find a special place in their hearts as well," read the press release for the trailer.

The second film will revolve around both Winter and the new baby dolphin Hope with Winter remaining the central dolphin character in the film. Other animals from the first Dolphin Tale will also be returning such as Rufus the Pelican. It will also show the story of rehabilitated dolphin Mandy who was successfully released back into the wild by the Aquarium.

The scripts to both films were based on real events that occurred at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. They brought much attention to this establishment that entered into financial hardship shortly before the first film was made.
