Dr. Phil Scores Exclusive Interview With George, Cindy Anthony

Cindy and George Anthony, the nation’s most-watched grandparents, are finally speaking out, choosing to break their silence on none other than the Dr. Phil show.

In an all-media-exclusive interview that will air on Sept. 12 – marking the show’s 10th season premiere –Dr. Phil will finally help the Anthonys open up about their side of the story.

“Cindy and George have suffered a horrific loss with the untimely death of their granddaughter Caylee, and they have since endured an unprecedented public attack on their family,” Dr. Phil McGraw said in a statement.

“Have these attacks been warranted, or not? I looked them straight in the eye and asked some very tough questions,” he added.

“Despite living under a ‘media microscope’ for years, THEIR story has never really been told and there’s so much more to it than we’ve heard in the media. Throughout this extensive interview, we explore every detail of their ordeal, and they answer every question I know will be on our viewers’ minds.”

Nothing will be off limits during the interview, Dr. Phil also mentioned.

Perhaps questions like, “Did George Anthony really molest his daughter, Casey?” or “Why did Cindy Anthony lie about searching for chloroform while on the witness stand?” or even more pressing, “Did Caylee Anthony accidentally drown in their backyard swimming pool?” will be answered during the tell-all premiere.

Cindy Anthony also said in a statement, “We knew that we’d want to speak at some point, and we figured there was no better place than with Dr. Phil.”

“We are hoping that by doing this interview, we will be able to help other people who may be experiencing struggles of their own. We certainly don’t want anyone to experience what we have these last three years.”

Her husband, George, who was widely criticized by the defense for purportedly covering up the death of his granddaughter and molesting his daughter at a young age, also thought that Dr. Phil would be the best place to publicly open up.

“We appreciate the way in which Dr. Phil has helped others, and we trust him enough to completely open our hearts in telling our story.”

“He is a professional that understands the uniqueness of our family situation. There’s no one better to do this interview than Dr. Phil. We knew he would ask the difficult questions, and we were right.”

Wondering if the couple would be paid for their appearance, Dr. Phil clarified that the Anthony’s asked for no compensation.

They only requested that a donation be made to “Caylee’s Fund,” a charitable organization advocating grandparents’ rights as well as missing and abused children. Cindy and George would not gain any income from the organization.

Additionally, their daughter Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering Caylee in July and released from jail the same month, has purportedly signed on to write a tell-all memoir, according to the Los Angeles Examiner.

Anonymous sources shared that Casey’s representative settled recently with the deal, and that Casey would write the book with the help of a ghostwriter.

The memoir would highlight her life, from her childhood years to her adulthood, explain about her relationship with her family members, and also allegedly include the name of Caylee’s birth father, who was still “very much alive.”

The source also told the Examiner that Casey already received the six-figure advance for the memoir, which she would keep as long as she finished the manuscript by a set date.

“Anyone that thinks crime doesn’t pay is sadly mistaken,” the source added.
