Eddie Murphy: No Alcohol in 18 Years; Cleans Up For Oscars
Eddie Murphy recently admitted that he has not tasted alcohol since 1993.
The “Shrek” star, who is currently promoting his new movie “Tower Heist,” refuses to have even one drop of wine.
"I don't drink at all,” Murphy said, according to Perez Hilton. “At all.”

Although Murphy confesses that those who indulge in alcohol seem to have a good time, he said following suit may have bad results.
“I can't drink, because I will throw up,” Murphy said. “And sometimes it looks like the drinkers are having so much fun and I cannot."
However, Murphy recently recalled the last time he had a drink. According to PerezHilton.com, the incident took place 18 years ago on Murphy’s honeymoon.
“The last time I got drunk was on my honeymoon, maybe 18 years ago,” Murphy said. “That was the second time I got drunk and it was the last time. I was just thinking, you know, it’s all good, I only had three glasses of champagne.”
The comedian described the way he felt after indulging in the champagne.
“It don’t take a lot,” Murphy said. “I was feeling great for about five minutes, (thinking) this is a wonderful honeymoon.”
At a recent appearance on “The Ellen Show,” Murphy spoke about cleaning up his act and refraining from using curse words as the host of this year’s Oscar Awards.
"I don't plan on cursing,” Murphy told Ellen. “I don't have any plan to but every now and then a curse might slip out."
The actor seemed excited about new ventures on the horizon, in his latest appearance on the show.
"I'm doing lots of stuff now, I'm hosting the Oscars, going back to SNL – there’s lots of stuff coming up," Murphy said.
Murphy’s film Tower Heist is set to make its debut on Friday, Nov. 4.
