Ellen DeGeneres Ads to Debut for JC Penney's at Oscars
New J.C. Penney's commercials starring Ellen DeGeneres are set to air Sunday during the Oscars, despite debate over the talk show host being elected as J.C. Penney's spokesperson.
Controversy was sparked when group OneMillionMoms objected to J.C. Penney's electing DeGeneres as a spokesperson.
"Importantly, we share the same fundamental values as Ellen," Michael Francis, president of J.C. Penney Company said in a press statement when it was revealed that DeGeneres would be the company's new spokesperson. "We're thrilled that she's joining our team to help convey the exciting transformation under way."

After the statement was released, OneMillionMoms feared that the changes and values that J.C. Penney's was referring to would pertain to the talk show host's openly homosexual lifestyle.
"J.C. Penney has made a poor decision and must correct their mistake fast to retain loyal customers and not turn away potential new, conservative shoppers with the company's new vision," the OneMillionMoms site stated.
DeGeneres later came forward to confirm what she considered to be traditional values.
"I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values," DeGeneres said during her show.
On Friday, DeGeneres revealed unused footage from two of the five commercials, which will air Sunday.
One commercial takes place in Ancient Rome and depicts DeGeneres in time period dress, making jokes about how Rome wasn't built in a day. In the second commercial, DeGeneres appears in an 1800's styled hat shop where she accidentally accuses a woman of having fake hair.
