GOP Debates: Candiates Come Out Swinging (VIDEOS)
At the GOP presidential debates in Las Vegas last night, it was other knockdown drag-out – not only against each other, but against Herman Cain.
Rick Santorum, jumped on the opportunity to come out swinging against 9-9-9 stating that 84 percent of Americans would pay more taxes.
Newt Gingrich, the Former House Speaker, while giving Cain a pat on the back for coming forward, mentioned complexities of the 9-9-9 tax plan Cain didn’t cover.
Rick Perry, condescendingly calling Cain “Brother”, then announced that his own plan, due out next week, saying, “I’ll bump plans with you, brother and we’ll see who has the best idea about how you get this country working again.”
Michelle Bachman repeated her criticism of the Cain tax plan by saying it would allow Congress the chance to run up taxes in the future, “because at every step and stage of production, you'd be taxing that item 9 percent on the profit."
Cain came back saying that his opponents were mixing “apples and oranges,” that 9-9-9 wasn’t a value added tax and American’s should examine the plan for themselves.
Then Texas Governor Rick Perry and former Governor Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney went toe-to toe, their "debate" devolving into an actual yelling match.
