'Grey's Anatomy' News, Update: Did Meredith Get Shot In The Season 12B Teaser?
ABC's hit medical drama TV series "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 left viewers with more questions than answers and is yet to return to the small screens in the coming month.
Last week, a shocking "TGIT" promo trailer showed a brief glimpse of Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) in a dire situation. Fans of the hit ShondaLand drama quickly took to social media to pour out their theories as to what could have happened to the character, who can be seen dropping on the floor and is in an utter panic. The next scene further sends shivers as the surgeon was shown gasping for breath while wearing an oxygen mask.
To put the viewers at ease, a report from TVLine finally shed some light as to what happened to Mer in the snippet.
According to the publication, the said scene was taken from the midseason premiere which is slated to air in Feb. 11. As it turns out, the whole Grey Memorial Hospital will be under some sort of crisis which will put the entire team of medical professionals in a tight situation.
"Meredith is attacked, and it is as terrifying and as shocking as you would expect for it to be," cast member Kelly McCreary told TVLine.
The actress, who plays the role of Mer's half-sister, Maggie, did clarify that although the character "had a lot of brushes with death" in the past. This time around, it's different.
"…in other instances where Meredith came close to death, she has had a little bit of control over the situation. She could save herself in some way, or make a choice that might help herself. But in this case she's physically impaired in a way that she has not been before," she further explained.
McCreary went on to warn that fans better brace themselves for some gut-wrenching and "truly harrowing" scenes of the mid-season premiere.
Find out how these things unfold when "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 resumes on air this Feb. 11, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
