'Harry Potter' Theme Parks Opening in Hollywood, Japan and Singapore

"Harry Potter" fans received news on Thursday regarding plans to construct a second theme park in the United States inspired by the fantasy series franchise, as well as proposals to build more attractions in Japan and Singapore.

The magical world from J.K. Rowling's book series has a 2010-built theme park in Orlando that allows fans to experience some of the biggest thrills and attractions from Hogwarts Castle. Now that the final movie from the “Deathly Hallows” book has released, producers want to take advantage of its popularity before it fades away, according to Reuters.

NBC Universal plans to debut a new theme park in Los Angeles that will be very much like Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter ride; however, the new project will offer visitors different attractions.

Harry Potter’s popularity extends to a global scale, and tourists from all over the world traveled to see the book and movie series come to life in Florida. Japan and Singapore will also try to capitalize on the Asian market by opening Harry Potter theme parks in their respective countries, which are certain to be wildly popular as well.

Comcast, the television giant that owns the majority at NBC, is reported to be in the final stages of the deal that will confirm the establishment of a new Harry Potter theme park in Hollywood.

Although details are scarce at the moment, and it is not known when construction will begin and when the park will be able to open doors, fans in the West coast are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to visit a Harry Potter world closer to home.
