Herman Cain Leads Over Romney in Latest Poll (VIDEO)

Latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has Cain by a 4-Point Lead

Herman Cain, who was the target of most of the attacks at Tuesday night's republican presidential debate in New Hampshire for his “9-9-9” economic plan, is the current front runner for the Republican presidential nomination. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News Poll of Republican voters puts the former Godfather's Pizza CEO at 27 percent, a four-point lead over No. 2 frontrunner, Mormon Mitt Romney.

Taking the lead from Texas Governor Rick Perry, who is now in third, Cain's "9-9-9" plan would abandon the current tax code and replace it with a nine percent corporate tax, nine percent income tax and nine percent sales tax.

A major argument against the 9-9-9 plan came from Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann who said Cain's plan would open a new revenue stream, a national sales tax, which could be raised again and again.

Bachmann joked that turned u-9 becomes the Biblically prophesied "mark of the beast," saying, "I think the devil's in the details.”

Perry, who performed poorly in the both of the last two candidates' debates, fumbled words on some of his answers and as he did in the previous debate, appeared tired on Tuesday night. Perry is now the No. 3 candidate behind Cain and Romney. His campaign team has promised that Governor Perry would be better prepared and more rested next time.

In Tuesday's debate, the candidates were seated around a large table rather than standing behind a podium as in previous debates. The two front-runners, Cain and Romney, received the most questions. All of the Republican presidential candidates have said that the budget should be balanced through spending cuts only.

With only $1-million in his war chest, Herman Cain, despite his current popularity, has been compared to the "flavor of the week," as all the top three candidates have held the No. 1 position at various times.
