On Sunday, I learned that there were three more police officers shot and killed — this time in Baton Rouge. I listened to the news conference given by Baton Rouge police administration.

Every official who spoke asked Americans to pray — actually they begged us to pray! They pleaded with us to pray for their particular department, but also for every police department in our nation.

People of God, we know the God who answers prayer. We are well acquainted with the power of prayer. We have been given the mandate to pray for those in authority (1 Tim. 2:1-4).

LET'S PRAY!

If every Christian who reads this article prays for his or her police department, we could cover every police officer in the United States of America in prayer!

Here are 10 ways to pray for your police department:

1. Pray Psalm 91 for supernatural protection.

2. Pray that every hidden trap of the enemy would be exposed.

3. Pray for wisdom and discernment.

4. Pray for strength and unity.

5. Take authority over every demonic spirit sent on assignment against them.

6. Plead the blood of Jesus over the entire department and city. Paint the town red in prayer!

7. Pray for the peace that can only found in the Prince of Peace — Jesus!

8. Pray for the families of each police officer — comfort, protection, and strength.

9. Pray for the salvation of each police officer.

10. Declare in prayer that Jesus is Lord over your town's police department!
