Consumers Grab The Most Successful iPhone in History

As promised, the much hyped release of the iPhone 4S has had customers waiting in line for the device which is the most successful release of any electronic device in history.

One million of the phones were sold in just 24 hours last Friday, and today customers began lining up for them.

The new dual-core A5 processor and 8 megapixel camera are in demand along with the virtual personal assistant, Siri. The iPhone 4S is twice as fast as the iPhone 4 and also comes with the highly touted iOS 5.

The iPhone 4S will still be on the 3G network but is still twice as faster than devices working off 4G networks. It comes in three memory capacities including a 16GB, 32GB and a 64GB version

Even though the iPhone 4S has the same chassis as the iPhone 4, and there was some initial disappointment, the number of preorders overshadow any doubts as to the superphone’s popularity.

The polster Retrevo found that 71 percent of iPhone 4S smartphone users were not disappointed in their phones and 53 percent of iPhone 4 users were fine with their devices.

As a testament to Apple’s marketing, iPhone 4 users who weren’t completely happy, 42 percent are saying they still plan to buy the new 4S smartphone.

Many commentators who have reviewed the iPhone 4S say that an upgrade to the fifth-generation smartphone may be a good investment for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users, but that iPhone 4 users are probably best off keeping their phones and upgrading to iOS 5, which was also recently released.
