Jennifer Lawrence Shows Kindness on Red Carpet, Comforts Crying Fan (VIDEO)

Jennifer Lawrence once again showcased her likable personality while walking the red carpet at the world premiere of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" on Tuesday.

Instead of just coasting by dozens of cameras and fans along the red carpet, Lawrence noticed one fan in a wheelchair, clearly upset and crying at the event.

The 23-year-old surprised the young fan by stepping off of the red carpet, through the security barricade, and offering her a hug.

It turns out that the fan was 15-year-old Jessica Hambly who suffers from a disease that affects her joints, according to Yahoo U.K.

Hambly was able to attend the exciting "Hunger Games" premiere because of a wish granted by Starlight Children's Foundation, an organization that fulfills wishes of seriously and terminally ill children.

Diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidosis disease, Hambly's joints are weakened and her nerves are less effective, in addition to the adverse effect on her heart and lungs. As a result, Hambly is reliant on a wheelchair for mobility.

However, Hambly's mood was clearly brightened after Lawrence greeted her at the premiere. Although it is unclear what words were exchanged, Lawrence kissed Hambly on the cheek before hugging her and returning to the red carpet.

The "Hunger Games" fan offered insight on her own difficult condition, reported Yahoo U.K.

"Although my condition has gone wrong and got worse, the limitations are still minor things like not being allowed on fast or rockety rides but that's not important to me," she explained. "What is important to me, however, is time and memories and although I will never be a granny, I measure life in what you did, not how long you lived!"

Meanwhile, Lawrence is no stranger to shedding the glamorous Hollywood image. In fact, while accepting her Oscar Award earlier this year, the actress tripped on the steps before millions of viewers, but dismissed the mishap with a laugh.
