'Jesus Christ' Criticizes Tim Tebow on SNL

Jesus Christ has appeared before Tim Tebow – in the form of a Saturday Night Live spoof that tackled many of the issues surrounding the Denver Broncos QB.

The show followed a fictional Broncos’ team after an overtime win against the Chicago Bears. The group appeared in their locker room, as the actor playing Tebow gave his team a motivational speech.

“Hey guys I want to thank you all for believing in me. I know it started a little shaky but we pulled it out because we stuck together,” Tebow said. “Also, I gotta thank the most important person in my life. My lord and savior Jesus Christ because I could not do this without him.”

The fictitious QB proceeded to bow on one knee in the “Tebowing” stance before saying, “thank you Jesus.”

A white cloud of smoke revealed the character playing Jesus, who walked into the locker room saying "hi everybody." The Christian figure admitted that he had been the reason behind the Broncos’ winning streak.

“First of all, you’re welcome,” the character playing Christ said. “Yes I Jesus Christ am indeed the reason you won your past six football games.”

“I knew it,” an overzealous Tebow exclaimed.

However the spoof highlighted the Broncos’ flaws, with "Jesus" telling the team that they need to improve their game.

“If we're gonna keep doing this, you guys gotta meet me half way out there. Lets face it, it’s not a good week if every week, I the son of God have to come in drop everything and bail out the Denver Broncos in the fourth quarter,” the fictitious Jesus told Tim and his team. “I'm a busy guy.”

However, the SNL Tebow seemed confused saying, “I pray before every game.”

Yet, that was not enough for the Christ character appearing on SNL.

“Yea I know but here’s something else you should do before every game,” the fictitious Jesus said. “Stretch. Get the arm warm, read the playbook. Do you read that?”

The Tebow character revealed that he had not been reading the book saying, “The Holy Bible is my playbook."

While Tim’s teammate defended him in the spoof, the imitation Christ told the team to thank the kicker on the squad who does not receive as much acknowledgement.

“Tim is doing his best bless him. But you know who you should be thanking,” the Christ character asked. “Your kicker. You don't win unless this guy hits a 59-yarder. I’m serious man, Matt Prater? I pray to you brother.”

A fake Prater claimed he had no idea that Jesus prayed to him. The Christian icon looked at Tebow while answering, “Yea, that’s because I'm not in everyone’s face about it."

He requested that Tebow, “take it down a notch.”

The character playing a spiritual icon also told the team to focus and warned them that he would not help them in the game against the New England Patriots and their QB Tom Brady.

“If I'm the Son of God, Tom Brady gotta be his nephew,” the fake Christ revealed. However, the Broncos could not overcome the Patriots on Sunday, losing 41-23.
