Kate Middleton Baby: Duchess Enters Hospital Ahead of Birth, Evades Press

Kate Middleton managed to evade the swarm of paparazzi camped outside of St. Mary's hospital in London on Monday while sneaking in for a checkup.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, reportedly made a discreet entry into the Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital ahead of her due date in recent days. Middleton, 31, is expecting her first child with Prince William, 30.

"I was at St. Mary's with Kate Middleton! I was told it was a checkup," a patient at the hospital in Paddington told E! News.

The Duchess, who is yet to learn the sex of her unborn baby, reportedly stopped in for a brief visit before making her exit.

"There are so many different ways in to the Lindo. They can easily ghost her in or out," Joe Sene of London's Vantage News photo agency said.

On Wednesday fans went into a Twitter frenzy after users claimed Middleton had gone into labor.

"Kate Middleton said to be in labor after emergency helicopter lands at Kensington Palace (via @betvictor) #RoyalBaby," one Twitter user wrote.

Reports later revealed that a helicopter was spotted near the Duke and Duchess' home in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, which prompted the false alarm.

"We were called to two other incidents in the area. There's nothing else of significance relating to the royal birth," a spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service (LAS) told DigitalSpy.com.

The Duchess is reportedly preparing to have a natural birth in an exclusive maternity suite which reportedly costs an estimated $7,000 for a one-night stay with normal delivery, according to the Daily Mirror U.K.

Middleton, who was reportedly due to give birth on June 11, will reportedly take a deluxe suite that features two rooms. All rooms reportedly have satellite television, a telephone, wi-fi, radio, a safe and a fridge.
