Kate Middleton Style Inspires Brides Across the U.S.

Brides across America have demonstrated their affinity towards Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, jewelry, and décor. Recent statistics show Kate Middleton’s hand-embroidered veil has resulted in a 52 percent increase in American brides choosing to wear veils this wedding season, according to Brides Magazine.

The unique and complex veil worn by Middleton was a single layer of silk ivory-tulle with hand-embroidered lace flowers. A duplicate of the veil would cost around $400, but many brides are selecting less expensive look-alikes.

Elbow-length, single-layer lace veils similar to Middleton’s are now in high demand, where as in years past, it had become popular for brides to omit the veil altogether.

There has also been a 200 percent increase in requests for horse-and-carriage rentals in the United States; another inspiration drawn from the Royal Wedding.

A horse-drawn carriage transported Prince William and bride Kate Middleton from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace immediately following their wedding.

Worn with the veil was Middleton’s “something borrowed” wedding tiara, lent by Queen Elizabeth. The diamond-encrusted Cartier “Halo” tiara has also ignited a trend for American weddings. Since the royal wedding hair accessories, including tiaras, have seen a big increase from brides-to-be.

Another trend following in the footsteps of the royal wedding is the use of red aisle runners. These have received a 25 percent swell in sales, similar to the dramatic décor of Westminster Abbey the day of British royal wedding.

Americans were captivated by the royal event in London, and this has been clearly shown by the massive influence seen in how brides prepare and conduct their weddings this summer across America.
